The whirlwinds that are Christmas and New Year have come to an end and many of us are feeling somewhat windswept after the festivities. If you’re not sure what day of the week it is, what you’re meant to be doing and can’t find your most-loved corset under a pile of Christmas presents, then you’re not alone! The post-Christmas blues have left many of us feeling much less sparkly than usual. But fear not, we have the perfect antidote! Here are five ways that burlesque banishes your January blues…

Banish the blues with… movement

Christmas and snacks go hand in hand. Christmas and our sofas go hand in hand. Christmas and alcohol go hand in hand. And, if you’re anything like us, you’re probably feeling the effects of indulging in many festive goodies. Whilst we believe that you can (and should!) eat and drink whatever you want and move as much or as little as you’d like, getting moving is a sure-fire way to banish those January blues. Burlesque is a sensational way to get your body moving without joining a gym or braving it for a walk outside in the cold – not only this, but you get to learn fantastic routines whilst you do it!

I know what you’re thinking, the holidays have given us more than enough time to be sociable, and all you want to do now is hibernate in your home. But we believe that spending time with friends will absolutely keep the January blues at bay. Heading to a burlesque class once a week will ensure that you are staying connected with your friends in a fun and welcome space – plus, if the blues are getting to you a bit too much, then your friends will surely help you shimmy your way back to happiness.
