Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.
Although this year we won’t be able to go out for dinner or celebrate like we normally would, there are still plenty of ways we can still show our love.
If your wife, girlfriend or other significant other loves burlesque you might want to buy them a burlesque themed gift.
However, if you aren’t into burlesque yourself you may not even know where to begin.
Luckily for you I do!
Here are my 5 suggestions on what to buy for a burlesque lover for Valentine’s Day.
1 – Valentine’s Day Tassels
Okay, this may be an obvious one but it is sure to please.
Maybe your lover is an experienced dancer and would love a new luxury, bespoke pair of nipple tassels?
There are plenty of amazing tassel makers you can find on sites such as Etsy.
On the other hand, maybe your loved one has an interest in tassels, but maybe doesn’t quite have the confidence to try it yet.
How amazing would it be for them to receive their first pair of tassels from their other half?
There are thousands of nipple tassles to choose from and you can find some for any budget.
2 – Rhinestones
Burlesque costumes can be extremely expensive.
For this reason, many dancers choose to get hands on with their outfits.
It’s not all about sewing however.
In my opinion, rhinestones are a vital part of burlesque (you may have guessed that from my name).
Any regular bra, thong, corset or even shoes can be made burlesque with a sprinkling of rhinestones.
Personally I would pick a bag full of rhinestones over a bouquet any day!
3 – Shoes
Shoes are always a welcome gift.
However, for a burlesque dancer no ordinary pair of heels will do.
Dance shoes are far more practical and durable to dance and perform in than a pair from the high street.
You can get ballroom shoes that are already very showy.
I like to buy character shoes and bling them up myself (I really like rhinestones).
The great news is that dance shoes are very easy to find and don’t have to cost a lot either.
4 – Show tickets
I have seriously missed going to see burlesque shows this year and I know I’m not alone.
Thankfully many performers have been putting on online shows.
There are many planned for the next few months.
A great Valentine’s Day present would be tickets to one of these shows.
If zoom shows aren’t your thing, how about looking for tickets for future shows that are on sale now?
If you can’t find any, then you can always give your partner an ‘I owe you’ for show tickets when they are available.
5 – Dance classes
What better way to treat your other half than treating them to some burlesque classes!
Of course I would recommend the Love You Burlesque classes. However, if they are already signed up there are plenty of others to choose from. Because of lockdown, many international stars have started offering online classes. This means there are opportunities to train with dancers that you wouldn’t normally get to do.
Whatever you choose to get your other half this Valentine’s Day, I hope you have a lovely and safe day.
